Rage is a State of Being.

Inconsequential Determinants

“What happens when

you’re confronted by

a man,

In the quiet moments

where no one can see?

What happens when you CANNOT flee?

What happens when

you have to fight,

when you’ve reached a dead end

and you try as you might

have a chance?

What happens when the odds are stacked against you?

When the whole world never considers what you’ve been through

by simply being born within the system you live every day,

and because of that system, you have to find a new way

to fight your fray without a gun,

to wage a war where your plight has won

all the instigator’s strikes against you,

when all of this happens

–in a fleeting moment–

what do you do?

We’ve spent SO many decades in peaceful protests

forming task forces,

political militia,

and for what?

To be placed

in this painful beginning again,

to know that

your marginal force of hand,

is as lethal

as the gun

that man

Inspired to reblog this for those who haven’t read it yet. I ask you to really consider the title while you take in the poem. It’s important.
