[Non]Labeling, the Opiate of the Masses

What’s in a Name

To be Pure.

‘In its purest form.’

all of us

are we destined to perform

the most willing form of conforming

-to them-

the land of the pure and free;

the Whitest form.

This is ultimately toxically tied to hegemony

in a place that condemns us in the guise that we’re really free

but what do we do when we wake up

and realize that the first world really don’t give a fuck?

When we wake up and realize we were never them

and come to acknowledge the strength of which comes within?

And the thought of concessions makes you physically ill

but negating normativity makes you know the violence is real.

And every day’s beginning is one nights sad ending

and the time you are really feeling is when everyone else is sleeping?
